Daddy's Home Early?
Welcome to another evening of the Paxton Times! I have to tell you all, I find this really fun, and very relaxing. Today was a pretty full day for us here at the Paxton House. We got up and headed over to the church to tear down the set from the program. The hay made a mess so I spent about an hour sweeping it up. We kept the Donkey and stall pieces at the church, but the other cardboard went right to the recycling center near Tunkhannock. From there it was off to get the oil changed in the FJ so it's ready for our trip to John and Mona's. At about noon we got an exciting call from Randall telling us he would be home early, and would remain home the rest of the week. Lorelai was off the wall happy. She loves when her Daddy is home, of course, I was happy too. It's nice to have him home. We came home just in time to meet Randall then headed to Mom and Dad Paxton's for dinner. We got to play some Wii Fit. I can't wait to get one. And boy I am not as young as I used to be. The game figured my Wii age to be about 57. The kids are in bed and Randall is playing Madden 2009, I am planning on having a cup of tea and crocheting, I am making Lorelai a sweater and a Kitten. Once again I will bid you all a goodnight, and enjoy your New Year's Eve activities tomorrow! Bye-Bye.

Just a relaxing day with nothing to do!
Hello all, we had a pretty uneventful day. We had some errands to run for Daddy and some movies to drop off, but otherwise it was a slow day. which after the last week was kind of nice. We visited with my mom tonight since my dad worked the late shift. I tried to upload some of the pictures from her PC but, I only got one done and it wouldn't let me do any more. Randall left for NJ this morning at 3:45 am or so...to early to know for sure. I just spoke with him and he said they actually worked later tonight since they don't have a full work week. Lorelai is running around the room right now trying to get FRAP to chase her. He is tired and looking at her like, "Yeah right!" So I guess it's time to settle them aand myself down and wish you all a good evening. Until tomorrow, Bye-Bye.
Update.
Programs and Daddy's
Our Christmas Program...
Sunday 12/28/2008...
This evening was our church's Christmas program. It had been postponed due to some Northeast PA winter weather! I spent the afternoon getting everything set up at the church while Helen watched both the kids. My Mom came up to the church to help as did Pastor Colin and his daughter Miriam. I enjoyed the process of seeing just cardboard and then watching turn into the inside of a barn.(Pictures to follow). Dad gave me the ideas and helped me to draw the wood grain onto the beams and walls of the set. He drew our donkey Meg, she was adorable. At 5:30 the kids began to show up so I could get them dressed and then at 6:00pm it kicked off. It went really wee, and just like expected there were precious oopses and such, but isn't that the best part of a "kids program". I was blessed enough to have a Grand mom who also loved to do this in her own church and I was able to use some the pieces she had written a long time ago, so it added a little bit of a personal touch to the program. I guess the kids had fun because, I was asked if we could "do something for Easter". I'll have to pray about that and see where the Lord leads. We came home and of course Lorelai was wired so we watched a movie with her and she ended up falling asleep in the middle of it. FRAP cuddled up to Daddy and fell asleep early. It so nice to see the bond that they are forming. Sometimes Daddy is the only one that can get him to sleep. I know it's probably hard to picture Mr. Race-Car driver being so soft...but, he loves his kids. In fact he had his first encounter with his daughter and boys on Saturday. Our pastor's son, Sam drew Lorelai a picture with two hearts that had an S and L in them. He said "I thought this didn't start until she was at least 30?" I had to explain that "This is what it means to be a Daddy, and that it won't be the last time." I left out that Sam's two sisters had also drawn Lorelai a picture with friendship hearts on it. I thought it was too cute to see Randall re-act like that! So, I guess I will see everyone tomorrow night when I post for Monday! Bye-Bye.

Saturday 12/27/2008
Well, hello everyone. I have decided to start my New Years Resolution early. I realized that my brilliant sister-in-law,(Hi Mona) had the right idea when she started her "Garrison Kiddies" page. It's easy, fun, and a convenient way for everyone to catch up on what's going on with them. So here I am with the first blog on "The Paxton Times". First let me catch you up on what's been going on with each of us...
Randall Jr, aka...RJ,FRAP, or Hot Dog is now walking and getting into quite a lot of trouble. He loves phones and walks around with one usually held to his ear saying "Hi, Hi, Hi". Yes, he does say a couple of one syllable words like; hot, up, hi, and a couple two syllable like; ma-ma, da-da,na-na, and la-la which is what I think he calls Lorelai. He had his one year check up and he was 21lbs, and 31" tall. He is definitely taking after Daddy since our doctor said he couldn't even chart him because his height was literally "off the charts". His eating habits are sporadic, and I am told that both his great Aunt Robin and I were picky and fussy eaters, so that runs in the family too.
Lorelai, has been very busy this past month, she has had two Christmas programs she was in (pictures to follow). One was at her pre-school, and the other at church. Her pre-school program was very cute. They sang about six songs and had a little nativity scene. The funniest part was at the end when they closed in prayer. Lorelai waited for all heads to be bowed and eyes closed then she snuck back to the cookie room for a little snack and got back in before they finished praying. I have it all on video, she is soooo her fathers daughter! She was the "gold bearing wiseman" at our church program. She had a little piece to say and she had a treasure box with gold in it to "lay before the king". During practices the kids were running in to say there parts, yelling them, and running back out. But like most normal kids they caught stage fright and walked to their stage spots and quietly said their pieces the night of the program, except for...you guessed it, Lorelai. As she walked across the front of the church she greeted our friend Dan Howell with "Hey Mr. Dan, I didn't know you would be here", then she almost tripped on her costume and said "Whoa, I almost tripped, did you see that?", upon saying her piece and giving her gift she began to walk out and said "Oh, I have to kneel, Duh!". Yes, she is definitely not afraid to be infront of people. She is sooo her mother's daughter! But seriously, she is doing wonderful and is a constant source of joy for all of us. This year she fully grasped the fact that Christmas was Jesus' birthday, and now if you ask her what her best Christmas gift was she will reply,"Jesus being born". One evening in the car we were listening to a Christmas CD that happens to have Josh Groban singing "O Holy Night", Lorelai said to us, "This song is about Jesus. He is saying that we should fall on our knees and be thankful for Jesus being born. Mommy I am thankful, and I think when I get to Heaven I am going to climb up on Jesus' lap and give him a great big hug for being born" What a moment of pure delight for Randall and I! What amazes me is that a three year old little girl can understand that from a simple yet beautiful song, makes you wonder what's up with the rest of this world.
Randall Sr. has been working in NJ for about a month and a half now. He is welding and pipe fitting at a new factory going up down there. He got a call about two months ago saying he was recommended by someone to do this work because of his work ethic and quality. I agree, they know a good man when they see one. He has been selling some of the stone from the quarry a little at a time. He plans on going back to that in spring, but not full time. He will stay with the welding work for full time. He is going to race this year, he's just not sure where. He also wanted to change his number from 22r to R1 but, we all thought that wasn't a good idea since everyone knows him as 22r. He spends his weekends home with us, and says he didn't realize how much he misses the noise until he's in the hotel room for a night and it's just him and the TV. He did have a little company while at work two weeks ago, Aubry, who lives in NJ met him at the hotel and they went to dinner. I for one would bet that the conversation focused on Motor Cycles and Cars. Randall enjoyed it and said it was nice to have a friend!
Me...well, just being a mom and wife keep me busy enough, but I also wrote and directed the Christmas program at our Church. Gee, I am sooo my mother's daughter. I also built the set and decorated it, gee, I am sooo my father's daughter! I enjoyed it immensely and now understand why Linda and my mom did it every year! I have been doing Randall's secretarial work and also running the decal machine on the side. I did a lot of baking this year with the help of my mother-in-law and gave quite a few cookie tins out at Christmas. I am getting ready to head to John and Mona's this weekend and can't wait! I really miss them, and cherish the times when I am with them.
Well, I guess that'll wrap up our game of catch up! I hope you enjoyed hearing the news and I hope you look forward to seeing a lot more of it!
